A 24-year old female presenting with suicidal ideation, disturbed sleep, & social withdrawal responded to treatment with desipramine (DES). The subject’s plasma DES level was 3 times normal maximum without obvious ill effects. Calls for futher research into high plasma levels of tricyclic antidepressants. 3 refs.
