The use of Motor Vehicle Exhaust for Suicide and the Availability of Cars

A study of the states of the United States showed that suicide rates using car exhaust were lower in states that had lower rates of car ownership, a greater proportion of the population living in non-urban areas & that were further north. The implications of theses results for a public approach to suicide prevention are discussed. (DL)
