This newsclipping describes the case of Louis Soto, an inmate who died by suicide. Issues relating to inefficient suicide prevention strategies in detainment facilities are presented. The author states that suicide attempts in these facilities are increasing & that young first time offenders are at the greatest risk for suicide. Suggestions for the improvement of suicide prevention strategies are presented. (SC)
