The author attempts to clarify the meaning of attempted or successful suicides encountered in the intensive care unit & how these actions are to be viewed. Considers the rationality of suicide, suicide as a right, what actions constitute the taking of one’s life, what can be inferred about the knowing & willing part of the human action, & what then can be said about the morality of taking one’s life knowingly & willingly.
