This article looks at traumatic events occuring in a school setting and one school’s response to trauma in particular. Within a two month period this school had to deal with the suicide of a peer as well as the death of one of their teachers; Christa McAuliffe of the NASA program who died in an explosion during takeoff. A response system based on attachment theory is offered as a way to understand such reaction.
