Biographical data from the files of 2 groups of former clients of a community mental health clinic were compared: The 1st group had committed suicide in adolescence or early adulthood while the 2nd group were still surviving at the time of the study. Trends in data suggest that suicide individuals did experience more unstable living situations & a greater number of life stresses. The most important suicide predictor was the occurrence of suicidal thoughts prior to the suicidal act.
