Suicide in Saskatchewan: The Alcohol & Drug Connection

To gain greater understanding of the relationship between suicide & substance abuse the commission looked at suicide rates in Saskatchewan; the nature & extent of alcohol/drug involvement; youth & native suicide & the report of the National Task Force on Suicide. Although the exact nature of the relationship is not evident from this study, results indicate that decreasing drug & alcohol abuse would add to the global effort to decrease the rate of suicide in the province.
