A study of suicide victims who had completed the act of suicide while hospitalized was undertaken by the author, using case files of the Office of the Medical Examiner of Dade County, Florida, during the period 1980-84. Of the 1572 suicides reported, 14 victims were studied. Brief case histories are presented. Implications for hospital care are discussed. 11 Refs. (NBB)
