Dr. Robert Litman presents findings from his research attempts to quantify the concept “suicidal lethality” as part of a mathematical model of suicide behaviors. He claims that a 2-stage screening process is effective in identifying high risk individuals but cautions that the problem is too complex to be handled by only one screening device & recommends it to be used in conjuction with other testing devices & should not be used to replace clinical judgement. 20 Refs.
