This study was conducted to identify adolescents with suicidal tendencies in the school system. 1309 students from 2 high schools in the Trois-Rivieres region completed questionnaires that solicited personal data & also contained the SPEC & CES-D Dysphora Scale. 18% of the sample were identified as having suicidal tendencies. This subgroup had academic standings similar to non-suicidals but more failures (particularly males); more absenteeism, drop-outs, & disiplinary problems. (NBB)
