Klenk urges parents to cease being passive onlookers as their children embrace pathological values of modern society. Themes of kinky sex, torture, & killing in music & film should be strongly opposed, states Klenk, who decries adult passivity that leads to hopelessness & despair among the young. He stresses that strong moral & spiritual values must again be embraced by the family, by neighborhoods & communities, & by the church if the present tide of hopelessness is to be reversed. (NBB)
