This position paper by the New York Mental Patients Liberation Project (MPLP) focusses on the individual’s right to self-extinction & argues that the moral & legal stigma associated with suicide should be removed, that the individual is autonomous. It also contends that suicide is a social problem, not a psychiatric one.
