Preliminary results of an unpublished psychological interview study of suicide prevention in those with schizophrenia & paranoid psychoses are offered. The author suggests that the crucial factors for suicide prevention among schizophrenics are a change in (mental health) status, an absence of strong social ties, & a personal crisis. Various treatment isssues are discussed. (LH)
