Violent deaths, including accidental deaths, suicides & homicides are the main cause of mortality among people age 1-24 in Switzerland.In the last 10 yrs. there has been an increase in violent deaths in the 15-24 year age range. Set out are details of this evolution & comparisons with other Western countries. Also described are specific & non-specific means of prevention, while taking into consideration the reasons for this situation.
