Two personality constructs, desire for control & locus of control, were related to depression among college students. Measures of levels of depression, desire for control, & locus of control were taken from subjects returned a questionnaire concerning their experiences with depression during that 6-month period. Locus of control scores were significantly related to depression levels. High desire for control subjects were most likely to have suicidal thoughts. 45 ref.
