Utilizing suitable indicators for anomie, isolation, & psychopathology, the relative contributions of these factors to Florida white suicide rates were found by path analysis. When median age of the population is included in the model as an exogenous variable to suicide and these factors it is found to have the largest total effect on suicide. Zero order correlations do not accurately estimate the relative importance of anomie, isolation, or psychopathology to suicide rates. 19 ref.
