This paper discusses the background, history & implementation of a specific – Adolescent Suicide Awareness Program (ASAP) – developed by the South Bergen Mental Health Center, Inc. of Lyndhurst & Hackensack, New Jersey, under the direction of Ms. Ryerson. The program brings together local mental health experts with the secondary school community – administrators, teachers, counsellors, parents, & students – in a structured series of seminars & small discussion groups.
