The author compares issues in the training of suicide intervention with several different types of agencies including the police, a hotline, self-help groups, & mental health centre staff. Theory, intervention techniques & an exploration of attitudes toward suicide are the 3 main components of such programs. Several issues that affect the learning process are examined & discussed. (NBB)
