The case history of a 36-year-old female, who was treated for a variety of psychiatric illnesses before a diagnosis of limbic epilepsy was made, is presented. The authors state that a wide variety of psychiatric symptomatology may result from limbic seizures & stress the need for careful diagnosis in such cases. Stabilization appeared to occur in this patient with drug therapy: a combination of clorazepate, carbamazepine & phenytoin alleviated mood disturbances & self-destructive behaviors.(NBB)
