Abstract
Washington Psychiatric Society Sponsors Series of Public Service Announcements on Local TV
Public service announcements informing viewers of major warning signs of depression & suicide, broadcast by the Washington Psychiatric Society in 1983, received a massive public response. Callers had not known how to get help, said a WPS volunteer & most callers were serious about getting help. Mental health workers’ assessment of this type of public education about mental health are discussed. (NBB)
