The case of an 84-year-old nursing home patient who had become incompetent & whose death was clearly imminent is examined. Relatives sued for an order requiring that her feeding tube be removed. An intermediate Appellate Court ruled against removal; however, a Supreme Court reversed the order & the tube was removed. (NBB)
