This study explores the rate of suicide among cancer patients & attempts to determine the effect of malignant/benign diagnosis & the time period following diagnosis during which the patient is at highest risk. Data gathered from records of the cancer population of Norway indicated most suicides occurred during the 1st 3 months following diagnosis & that type of malignancy, sex differences & age were influential factors.(NBB)
