In this brief article the author denounces the assumption that more information about suicide in educational institutions will result in an increase in suicide rates among youth. He describes the Cherry Creek School-based Suicide PreventionProgram, involving 8th & 9th grade students, that was effective in decreasing suicide in schools where it had been implemented.
