Hot lines offer telephone assistance to adolescents overwhelmed by their problems. By dialing Hot Line, a caller may have a “tuned in, turned on” adult to listen to him; he may receive information about free clinics, drug counseling, or draft counseling; he may get the address of a crash pad. In many communities, hot lines have been valuable in crisis intervention.
