A Hotline telephone crisis intervention service was evaluated by a survey of 1506 high school students, an analysis of all incoming hotline calls during 1971, & by examining juvenile court record. Results indicated high awareness of the hotline service & accurate perception of its purpose in crisis intervention for issues like drug problems & intervention for family & interpersonal problems. In usage the service ranked below friends, parents, & “waiting it out” as problem solving.(NBB)
