One Every Twenty Minutes

This article describes the severity of the suicide epidemic, citing statistics & analogies in order to emphasize itsÕ influence in the United States. The author argues for increased awareness & training of medical professionals to prevent suicide. Issues of confidentiality related to suicide & the need for direct questioning of patients regarding suicidal thoughts are discussed. Suggestions for future training are included. (SC)
