A sample of 122 high-risk, suicidal male adolescents were studied, using psychiatric interviews & a review of suicidal death records. Analysis of this data yielded the following 9 variables that are significant in identifying those at risk: communication of intent & help seeking; sleep patterns; attitude toward interviewer; financial resources; ability to communicate, feelings of hopelessness; and apathy-psychomotor retardation.(NBB)
