Describes a group set up to meet the needs of lower socioeconomic individuals. It was found that such a group could serve multiple functions for its’ 26 members (many of them at risk for suicide), including crisis & long-term intensive group therapy. It was felt that people considered unable to utilize language, rather than action, to cope with conflict would eventually do so in this setting. 2 cases, one a suicide attempter from 5 months previously, are described.
