Problems of children whose parents die by suicide & the nursing actions to assist their resolution are described. A loss after 6 months of age affects the pattern for all future close relationships. Feelings are difficult to resolve because of society’s reaction. The child survivor is immediately “at risk” for comitting suicide & remains so for a long time because of identification. 5 ways to help a child deal with it’s loss & grief effectively are listed.
