Despite methodological difficulty, this paper suggests that there is a high rate of suicide among epileptics. Physicians need to pay attention to the psychosocial aspects of suicide & remain especially alert to signs of suicide ideation. More study is need to establish the suicide risk among epileptic persons as compared with other patients with other chronic illnesses.
