Reports on the follow-up of 200 Norwegian patients 1.5 to 15 years following treatment by collectomy. Of these, 178 were alive, & there was no reason to suspect suicide in the 21 reported deaths (1 patient could not be reached). The data suggests no differences for frequencies of divorce, psychosis, hospitalizations for mental disorders, or consumption of psychotropic drugs, when these patients were compared to the general population.
