After a comparison of suicidal lethality with PSI scores, the authors concluded that the discomfort scale could be used to predict risk. For males, risk increases as discomfort decreases and the reverse for women. It appears that the PSI is not easily applicable to the general prediction of risk for hospitalized patients.(JH)
