This study compares the psychological traits, physical traits, behavior, demographic data, incidence of family pathology & life stress, & scores on eating disorder scales in a sample of normal-weight female bulimics with a sample of normal-weight female controls matched for age, SES, & I.Q. Bulimics were found to have higher levels of psychological pathology & impulse behavior however, all other variables were compatible. Weight set-point theory is discussed. (36 ref.)
