29 patients with self inflicted wrist slash seen in consultation from 1970-1974 revealed 25 nerve and 70 tendon injuries. The average age, sex distribution, and psychiatric status generally followed previously reported series of suicide attempts. A major finding was the low patient response to surgical and psychiatric follow up. Intensified efforts to improve follow up and primary repair of damaged structures are recommended.
