The Bender Visual-Motor Gestalt Test was used to predict the presence of suicidal ideation. The experimental group were chosen from those who responded with the penetration of design 6 into design 5, the control group did not respond this way. The experimental group displayed significantly more suicidal ideation. This variable combined with other predictive criteria derived from Rorschach Research will help the clinician make recommendations about suicidally ideated psychiatric patients. (LD)
