Multivariate analyses revealed that 85 female adolescents had significantly poorer social & family histories than 112 males, yet they had less severe symptoms at admission & discharge. They also had fewer suicide attempts, fewer abnormal EEGs, & a shorter duration of illness. However, their length of stay was longer than that of the males.
