A 46-yr old man ingested approximately 50ml of a plastic resin catalyst. He developed persistent gastrointestinal bleeding, renal & hepatic failure, pneumonitis, & septicemia, & died four weeks later. Autopsy revealed chronic esophagitis & gastritis with massive intraluminal gastrointestinal hemorrhage. This case emphasizes the potential danger of ingestion of such substances.
