4 cases of attempted suicide by digoxin are discribed, of which 1 was successful. The mortality in the previously reported cases is high. The methods of treating these cases with potassium supplements, a potassium glucose insulin regime, beta adrenergic blockage, intravenous atropine & transvenous temporary pacing are discussed. Pre-existing cardiac disease increases the likelihood of complication from digoxin toxicity.
