Abstract
Using a Battery of Tests to Predict Suicide in a Long Term Hospital: A Clinical Analysis
Smith K
Based upon blind psychoanalytically based interpretations of 40 test protocols, 85% of 40 subjects were correctly classified as to their suicide potential. Clinical features shared by all suicide attemptors and completers were anxiety about death, “oral-symbiotic yearnings”, high expectations for oneself and attempts to tightly control depressive and aggressive emotions.
