Abstract
Self-Derogation and Suicide-I: Self-Derogation as an Antecedent of Suicidal Responses
Kaplan H B~~Pokorny A D
4694 junior high school students responded to a questionnaire (T1) that was also administered 2 yrs later (T2). Supported the hypothesis for the total sample, for each of 4 sex-socioeconomic level (mother’s education) subgroupings & for high & low scorers on each of 4 correlates of self-derogation. Among subjects reporting no threats, ideation or attempts within the last month, self-derogation level at T1 was significantly associated with reports at T2 of suicidal responses between T1 & T2.
