30 yrs. of completed suicides are summarized. The average yrly. rate is 117/100000. The age-adjusted rate for ages 15-24 is estimated to be 300/100000. The male to female ratio is 10:1 86% of suicides were alcohol related. The majority were single. Little variation in rates is evident from decade to decade. A list of recommendations are offered focussing on ameliorating cultural social & economic conditions. Better suicide prevention & mental health services are recommended.
