Theories viewing suicidal behavior as an act of inward-directed agression were not supported in a study of 43 undergraduate psychology students. An hour-long questionnaire about their suicidal behavior, a suicide potential scale & a hostility inventory were used. The scales, concerned with the manner & direction of expressed aggression did not differentiate the suicidal & nonsuicidal groups.
