Institutional Responses to the Suicidal Student: Ethical and Legal Considerations

The authors report the results of a nationwide survey of university & college counseling services on policies for dealing with the student who threatens or attempts suicide. They consider whether certain policies are ethically in the best interests of the student, & the possibility that some policies are in violation of federal law. (13 refs.)
