Prediction of Suicide: A Replication Study (IN: Suicide Research, Proceedings of the Seminars of Suicide Research by Yrjo Jahnsson Foundation, 1974-1977)

This study is a further step in the refinement of the Neuropsychiatric Hospital Suicide Potential Scale (NPHSPS) developed to predict suicide risk among NP patients being considered for release. Samples used (n=54) were composed of all the 1969 cases of suicide among hospitalized veterans of the Central Research Unit & non-suicidal (n=50) controls. The Scale functioned more reliably than had been expected when the results of the replication study were compared to the 1st validation study. (NBB)
