Readjustment, Desirability, Expectedness, Mastery and Outcome Dimensions of Life Stress Suicide Attempt and Auto-Accident

Authors compare suicide attempts, auto accidents & control group for recent life event stress variables. The suicide attempt group is quite different from the other 2. Suicide attempters revealed significantly higher scores on several measures of recent life stress than did either controls, or automobile accident instigators. The auto accident group scores were skewed by a few seriously depressed drivers. Comparison of different measures of recent life stress is an important part of this paper.
