Adolescent suicide is examined through a review of statistics, including “accidental” death. Both Freudian & developmental theories are used to describe suicide behavior to teachers. Steps in intervention, books, films, referral & discussion techniques are outlined as well as the importance of the teacher’s role. You do not precipitate an attempt by discussing suicide nor do you put ideas into the person’s head.
