This article looks at changes in recent widows’ relationships. Widows report family & friends withdraw or invade their privacy. Some develop angry feelings towards their families (mostly the widow’s mother). Sisters are the most helpful family members. Indicates more problems with family of late husband. Widows tend to lose married friends but individual friends remain. Friendships are at first important but tend to fade except for a few close friends. New friends tend to be other single women.
