This article examines the psychopathology of murderers. The authors present the argument that murderersÕ psychopathology forms at least one specific syndrome, citing specific cases to supplement their thesis. Among several unconscious motivations discussed for murder is the precept that it is a deflected suicide, as impulsive murders have occasionally been interpreted. Future research regarding this topic is suggested. (13 refs) (SC)
