Data collected on calls made to a telephone counseling service over a 22 month period were examined. It was found that a) calls concerning alcohol problems, dating & social skills, information & referral, loneliness & depression, pranks & obscenities, & problem pregnancy differed significantly across 4 2-hour intervals extending from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m.; b) males made more prank and obscene calls concerning dating and social skills; and c) males made more calls between 12 a.m. and 2 a.m.
