Group therapy is presented by the author as a means of working out fundamental issues & emotions through interaction with others. 2 cases of suicide from among 150 patients in group therapy are described; each had marital problems, & was unable to release pent-up hostility in the group. The disapproval of the group was also a factor. The author suggests that most such cases can be “talked out of” suicidal ideas or given deterrent shock treatment. (4 refs.) (RM)
